Today is Karl Marx's birth anniversary. Marx's work in economics laid the basis for the current understanding of labour and its relation to capital, and has influenced much of subsequent economic thought. He published numerous books during his lifetime, the most notable being The Communist Manifesto (1848) and Das Kapital (1867–1894).

DYFI Central Committee strongly condemns the killing of 31 people in Kokrajhar village of Assam by the BODOLAND goondas. This is a repeat of the selective killing of "Bengal Muslims" which had happened in Assam last year. Such fascist attacks should not be allowed in a democratic and secular country like India.

Youth in Kerala on Indefinite Hunger Strike

THE Left Democratic Youth Federation, a common platform of Left and democratic youth organisations in Kerala has launched a massive indefinite hunger strike in front of the State Secretariat building in Thiruvananthapuram, demanding the lifting of ban on recruitment and withdrawal of new tax hike.
