The Central Executive Committee of the Democratic Youth Federation of India strongly demands the central government to bring down the petroleum prices par with the falling international crude oil prices.

Civil rights activist Teesta Setalvad commented on the communal agenda of the Modi government and its contradiction with the secular values of the state. She says that the current government is guided by an unconstitutional body with a majoritarianism agenda -- the RSS -- and hence the attack on secular values is bound to continue. The long term roadmap of the RSS is to convert the Indian nation into a Hindu Rashtra. According to her, hate mongering is being done to provoke the minority and in response, plan another massacre like Gujarat riots .

Aiming to sensitise people against gender based violence and exploitation, the Democratic Youth Federation of India (DYFI) launches an All India campaign against violence on women from 16 - 20 December 2014. In connection with it DYFI Delhi State Committee has launched a campaign through staging plays on running buses. The campaign named "Sun Raha Hai Na Tu..." also involves a publicity blitzkrieg through social media and plastering various localities with related posters.

DYFI Maharashtra State Committee supports the one day "Shaala Bandh" to be held on 12th December 2014 by Marathi School Teachers on the issue of grant to schools. Previous Govt had decided to give grant to 1350 schools out of around 2500 schools. But Fadnavis Government has started the valuation process. This is an attempt by the State Govt to derail the whole process. It is also a clear indication to the people that no welfare will be provided.
