Resolution on Moral Policing

The 10th All India conference of the Democratic Youth Federation of India resolves to re-invigorate our struggle against moral policing. There has been a proliferation of violent right-wing groups appointing themselves as guardians of morality, harassing and assaulting young men and women who do not subscribe to their rules of segregation in public. ‘Moral policing’ in educational institutions by authorities themselves passing strictures to segregate girls and boys is another worrying development.

Ever since the accession of Jammu & Kashmir to the Indian Union in October 1947 the question of Kashmir has been not just a territorial dispute for India but a test of the secular, democratic and federal nature of the Indian Republic.

Resolution on Union Budget and the Youth

The Union Budget, 2017 has completely failed to address serious challenges faced by the people in general and youth in particular. The 10th all India conference of DYFI is of the opinion that this year’s union budget, instead of providing relief to the common people, especially youth, reeling under the disastrous impact of demonetization, is going to make life more miserable for the masses. The finance minister’s boastful declaration that the ‘budget has the aim of energizing youth through education, skills and jobs’ is absolutely farcical.

Resolution on Unemployment

Unemployment in our country had been on the rise because of the Liberalization – Privatization- Globalization Policies pursued as part and parcel of the Imperialist Globalization process that went on integrating our economy with the international finance capital in a malignantly transformative way for the last 25 years. Now it is projected to witness significant increase between 2017 and 2018, signalling stagnation in job creation in the country, according to a UN labour report.
