The state wide "Secular" March organized by DYFI Kerala State Committee concluded today (5th December 2015) at Ernakulam followed by a big Youth Rally. Concluding meeting was inaugurated by CPIM Polit Buereu Member Com. Pinarai Vijayan. DYFI All India President Com. M.B Rajesh MP were also present in the concluding ceremony. The DYFI would safeguard the progressive and secular mindset of the State and resist any effort to turn the State into an “asylum of fundamentalists”. DYFI was also opposed to communal frenzy orchestrated both by the majority and minority communities.

As a warning to the communal forces which are trying to eliminate the secular and religious culture of India and to spread message for saving India from the communal forces which are trying to create tensions in the society by bringing back the religion - caste - colour discrimination and inequalities, DYFI Kerala State Committee is organizing a state wide "Secular" March from 17th November 2015. DYFI Kerala will take out two parallel Secular marches in the State.  The march is divided into two zones as northern zone and southern zone.

THE 10th Maharashtra state conference of the DYFI held in Aurangabad City – the centre of the Marathwada region –  on October 9-11, 2015, resolved to rapidly expand the youth movement and organisation to meet the challenges posed by the murderous rightwing offensive. In connection with the conference, a massive youth rally and public meeting were organised on October 9 evening. Hundreds of DYFI activists from Aurangabad and nearby districts participated in the colourful rally. The rally also marked the culmination of two statewide Yuva Sangharsh Jathas led by the DYFI which converged in Aurangabad after touring 16 districts in six days. The venue of the public meeting, Sant Eknath Rang Mandir, was literally overflowing with people.

Two esteemed scholar-activists of Maharashtra, Dr Narendra Dabholkar and Comrade Govind Pansare were shot dead in the last two years in almost identical circumstances. It is widely known that extremist Hindutva outfits like Sanathan Sanstha are behind these killings. Very recently another outspoken scholar M M Kalburgi was also shot dead at his home in Karnataka in similar circumstances. These gruesome murders took place in the background of the RSS-led BJP’s ascendancy in national politics and with the Hindutva combination of BJP and Shiv Sena becoming the major political force in Maharashtra. Obviously, the Sangh Parivar has decided that it is time for them to step up their efforts to destroy the secular fabric of India and convert the Indian State into an authoritarian Hindu Rashtra without brooking any opposition. This is the logic behind the Dabholkar-Pansare-Kalburgi murders. Alerting the people about this game-plan is the most urgent task of all democratic forces.
