The Central Executive Committee of Democratic Youth Federation of India declares its joining in support for the General Strike on September 2, 2015 called by all trade unions in the country demanding withdrawal of anti-labour, pro-corporate amendments in labour laws, withdrawal of land acquisition amendment ordinance, minimum wages not less than Rs. 15,000 per month, same wage and benefits for contract workers at par with regular workers, universalisation of Public Distribution System, banning speculative trade in commodity market, employment generation, enforcement of all basic labour laws, universal social security cover, pension for all, stoppage of FDI in Railways, Insurance and Defense, etc.
THE Central Executive Committee of the Democratic Youth Federation of India in a statement issued on March 24, has welcomed the Supreme Court verdict scrapping the draconian law which allowed the arrest of a person for posting ‘offensive’ content. Section 66A of the Information Technology Act, has been declared unconstitutional by the Supreme Court. Describing the law as "vague in its entirety," the judges said, it encroaches upon "the public's right to know."
The Central Executive Committee of the Democratic Youth Federation of India strongly opposes the ban on beef in Maharashtra. On 2nd of March 2015 President Pranabh Mukherjee signed off on the Maharashtra Animal Preservation Amendment Act, 1995. There is already a ban in the state on the slaughter of cows. The amended Act puts a blanket ban on the slaughter of bulls, bullocks and calves, too.
The Central Executive Committee of the Democratic Youth Federation of India strongly oppose the move of the Hindu Maha Sabha to erect statues of Godse, the assassinator of Mahathma Gandhi in major cities of the country.
